: (1) The tenure of directors of a private company shall be as provided in the regulations.
(2) The term of office of the director of a public company may be a maximum of four years as mentioned in the regulations. But,
(1) The director appointed by the Government of Nepal or an organized organization shall remain in office for a period as per the will of the Government of Nepal or the appointing organization.
(2) The director appointed in accordance with the serial number (1) and (2) of the restrictive clause of sub-section (1) of section 87 shall remain in office only until the annual general meeting.
(3) The tenure of a director who has been appointed to that position after the term of a director has not been completed will be for the remainder of the director's term.
(3) A person who retires from the position of a director after the expiration of one term may be re-appointed to the position of a director, except as otherwise provided in the prevailing laws or regulations.
